Be Nice to Spinach

Food can be a very controversial and personal thing. You might not think of food as an extremely personal think like politics, but boy will people get ticked off if you insult a food they like. I once took a Culinary Arts class. Now you already have a room of people passionate about food but I remember one day that had a particularly intense argument that involved yelling, interrupting and was basically like an awkward family dinner where your liberal relative and conservative relative get in a fight and you want to escape the planet or at least join a circus to get away. It's even worse if they try to drag you in. It was like that but with food. Mainly, should you dip your French Fries in ranch? I for one, ship the heck out of fries and ranch. Ranch can go on almost anything in my opinion. But people get intense about their food.

Some foods are very controversial like with fruitcake, you either love it or hate it, another food like that is the infamous black licorice. Some foods don't really have middle ground. Brussel Sprouts, Black Licorice, Fruitcake, Sushi, are some foods that are very touchy. Spinach is a food that's rather odd to enjoy. I like Spinach, it is one of the few vegetables I like. When I tell people I like Spinach I will usually get a "Wow, really?" I would like to clarify that I like fresh baby Spinach leaves. I have never had canned Spinach and don't plan to. Looks unappetizing. Most people seem to think of canned Spinach when I say that I like Spinach so I have to clarify. Usually people are so turned off by the canned type they don't bother trying it fresh. My mom taught me that if you don't like a food you should try it another way and you might like it. This probably stems from my mom also mentioning on occasion that my grandmother was a terrible cook. People who have also tried fresh Spinach usually agree with me. Go try some Spinach!

Spinach is usually associated with Popeye the sailor, not the restaurant (my dad went to one once and it made him sick. The restaurant, not the sailor). And is also usually believed to have a crazy amount of Iron which is a myth. The guy put the decimal in the wrong place but after it was fixed it was to late, the myth stuck. It's still good for you though!
Popeye the sailor man! I used to watch cartoons of him as a kid on a boxed set of old cartoons my grandpa bought me. I wonder where those cartoons are now. It had Popeye, Betty Boop, Felix the Cat, and more! That is not how you eat Spinach by the way. Also why is his pipe sticking out of his face. It never occurred until someone pointed it out to me and now I'm pointing out to you. Why? The pipe is just there, sticking out of his face...
Don't smoke kids! Bubble pipes are okay and so are bubble gum cigars but stay away from drugs and cigarettes and just tabacco in general.
This is Popeyes the restaurant. Looouisiana FaAaast! The food looks great in the commercials though

The Spinach I am eating has been in the fridge a while and is of questionable quality, that was a quick fix however by dousing it in ranch!
This guy makes great comics by the way. His name is Adam Ellis and his work is on Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook. I follow him on Facebook, and am currently reading his comics while writing. So distracted, much comic, WowW.
