Blast From The Past Continued/The Art of Film Making

So in digging through the videos saved on my computer I found a complete gem. A film I made when I was 13. It was shot in one take with my laptop's camera, it is 47 minutes long and was performed with Barbie's. Also the entire thing was improv. My mom was in charge of music and Rapunzel.

Basically these four friends go to the middle of the forest at night to pick a pumpkin for their Halloween party. Then after four ghosts show up telling them not to pick pumpkins a vampire appears and kills one of the guys. Then the vampire fights a cat who is the guardian of the pumpkin that keeps humanity alive. The story concludes with two of the side characters dancing to Joker music with a cameo of an Orca.

That is just a brief summary. I just got done watching and I am still processing what I just saw. I mean, what was 13 year old me thinking? It was made with such purpose and concentration. I was very serious about my art. Unfortunately I can't post my film here because I accidentally slid into the frame a couple times but it is 10/10 on Rotten Tomatoes and won 5 academy awards.

Thank you for giving me these awards for my 10/10 ridiculous semi-garbage.

  1. Unfortunately, there is no true way to capture the ridiculousness and fun in text form. *Le sigh*
